Randolph Goods Insight
The Haut à Courroies is one of Hermès' earliest handbag designs and an important predecessor to the Birkin. Its origins in equestrian travel are reflected in its distinctive tall proportions and signature long straps. Today, vintage HACs are increasingly appreciated by collectors for their historical significance and relative rarity compared with the Birkin and Kelly.
An HAC 32 in Ostrich is an especially distinctive combination, bringing together one of Hermès' most historically significant silhouettes with one of its most recognizable exotic leathers. The Rouge Vif color further emphasizes the character of the piece, while the natural fading and wear give this vintage example a sense of history that is unique to older Hermès bags.
